Coverkey

When someone's off, their logins aren't.

Coverkey keeps your team's work logins — username, password and the live 6-digit app code — ready for you to use while they're on holiday, off sick, or gone for good. Locked at all other times, and every view is recorded, permanently.

A small business office in the morning: colleagues working at their desks, one desk empty with its laptop closed
One desk empty. The work doesn't stop. That's the idea.

One switch, not a rollout

  1. 1

    Save the logins that matter

The bank, the accounts package, the email. For each: username, password and — if it uses an authenticator app — its setup key: the long code shown as text when the app is first set up, usually behind “can't scan the QR code?”. Done in an afternoon.

  2. 2

    Put someone on cover

Off sick, on a beach, or gone for good — one deliberate switch unlocks their logins for whoever's covering. Switch back, and it's locked again.

  3. 3

    Cover carries on without them

Whoever's covering opens the login and sees the username, the password, and a live app code counting down — the same code the absent phone is showing. They type it into the system themselves.

  4. 4

Every view goes on the record

Who looked, at what, and when — written permanently. Nobody can tidy it up afterwards, including the boss. Export it for the accountant.

Honest about what it covers

An authenticator-app code doesn't actually live in anyone's phone. It comes from a setup key the system hands out once — and when that key is saved in Coverkey, we show the same rotating code their phone shows. No ringing, no phone, no waiting.

The genuine exceptions: systems that text a code or ask someone to tap “approve” on their device. Nobody can store those, so we say so plainly instead of showing a fake code — and most systems that use them also offer an authenticator app you can switch to. Worth doing for the logins that matter.

A person types the code. Always.

Nothing signs in for you, ever. Whoever's covering reads the code and types it in themselves — which keeps a person accountable for every access, and keeps your business inside each service's rules.

Hands copying a code from a phone into a laptop — typed by a person, never automated

Built to hold your keys

Coverkey holds the logins your business can't afford to lose, so it's built like it: layered, locked by default, and on the record.

  • Encrypted where they live

Logins are stored encrypted in an EU data centre, keys held separately from the data.

  • Locked by default

Viewing is only possible while someone's on cover or has left — enforced in the database itself.

  • The key never leaves

Only the 6-digit code ever comes out; the authenticator key behind it stays inside the database.

  • A record no one can edit

Every view is written permanently. No edit, no delete — for anyone, including the owner.

  • Each business walled off

Row-level isolation between businesses, tested with every release.

  • Never automated

Nothing signs in to your systems for you — a person types the code, every time.

One flat price for the whole business

Your staff aren't users here — they're records. So there's no per-seat maths, just a price for the size of your team.
